Let’s Make Some Cinnamon Apple Bites!

Usually I am not the biggest pie fan but this time of the year it just sounds so comforting and my son has been loving them as well. And of course, everything is better bite sized so I was so excited to make a super easy recipe for Mini Apple Pie Bites. This recipe is so easy, has no added sugar, and is a great mini dessert idea to make for the Holidays…or just any day really. To make this recipe even easier I am using a store-bought pie crust but you can very easily make your own if you prefer.

Ingredients:

  • One Apple

  • One Tablespoon Butter

  • One Teaspoon Lemon Juice

  • Two Tablespoons of Almond or Coconut Milk

  • Two Teaspoons Cinnamon

  • One Teaspoon Nutmeg

  • Quarter Cup of Apple Butter

  • One Roll of Crescent Pie Crust Dough

How To Make Them:

First you will need to preheat your oven to 400 Degrees Fahrenheit. Now we will peel and chop one Apple into small pieces. Add the Apple into a pan with one tablespoon of Butter, two teaspoons of Lemon Juice, two tablespoons of Milk, one teaspoon of Cinnamon and ½ Teaspoon of Nutmeg. Cover and cook on low to medium heat for about 10 minutes or until the apples are tender and the liquid has dissolved.

Set aside and let them cool. Next, take the pie crust dough and cut out small rounds, you will want to size these to fit the muffin tin you are using. Place the pie crust rounds into your muffin tins. Now place about a teaspoon of Apple Butter on the bottom of the pie crust then fill the rest with the diced cinnamon apples. Bake at 400 Degrees for 15-18 minutes and they are done!
