Let’s Make Some Cinnamon Twists!

These Cinnamon Twists are one of my easiest and favorite sweet treats! There is just something about the combination of sugar, butter, and cinnamon that is so comforting, those flavors combined with crunchy puff pastry is so delicious! This may not be my healthiest recipe but it is such a tasty treat and perfect to make for the holidays.

Ingredients:

  • Puff Pastry

  • 1/3 Cup of Softened Butter

  • Two Teaspoons Cinnamon

  • Two Teaspoons Coconut Sugar

  • One Teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Powdered Sugar Icing:

  • Two Cups Powdered Sugar

  • Three Tablespoons Milk of Choice

  • One Teaspoon Vanilla Extract

How To Make Them:

Start by preheating your oven to 375 Degrees Fahrenheit. Now let’s make the cinnamon filling. In a bowl combine 1/3 cup of softened Butter (I used Earth Balance butter so it is Vegan), two teaspoons of Cinnamon, two teaspoons of Coconut Sugar and one Teaspoon of Vanilla.

Next, we will roll out our thawed Puff Pastry sheets so they are thin, on one sheet we will add our Cinnamon Butter filling, spread out the filling so it covers the entire sheet. I like to sprinkle some extra Cinnamon and Coconut Sugar on before adding the top layer of Puff Pastry but this is optional. Add the second puff pastry sheet on top and press together. Now using a pizza cutter slice thin strips vertically. I recommend also cutting once horizontally so the twists aren’t too long. Before these go into the oven I recommend adding on some oil to help them brown in the oven and sprinkle on some additional coconut sugar. These can now go into the oven at 375 degrees for about 18 minutes or until they are golden brown.
