Let’s Talk About Snack Time!
Ok so you’ve managed to master making the three meals a day for your baby but now your little one is getting older and with that comes an increasing appetite so now we need to think about snack time. My goal with snack time is to make it as easy for me as possible while still making it healthy and something that he will enjoy. Here are my favorite snack time ideas that my little guy devours every time!

Fruit & Cheese: This is B’s FAVORITE snack. He just loves Cheese, while I try to give it to him sparingly due to the salt content, he always devours it when it gets it. When available I try to buy a low-sodium cheddar cheese. I pair the cheese with any fruits that I have on hand today I gave him some Orange and some Peaches. Cheese offers him Calcium and Protein, Orange is high in Vitamin C and Peaches offer Vitamin C, Vitamin A and Potassium.

Banana and Peanut Butter with Chia Seeds: This guy never says no to Banana, it has been one of his favorite fruits since he first started eating. I love giving him Bananas because they are a great source of Potassium and they are a great texture for Baby Led Weaning. I like to pair Bananas with a nut butter (using Peanut Butter in this picture but he also likes Almond Butter). I always try to get a natural no salt added Peanut or Almond Butter, this provides the protein without any added ingredients. I also love to top it with some Chia Seeds for extra nutrition (Check out my post where I go in detail on the health benefits of Chia Seeds).

Veggies & Hummus: Definitely a favorite for B and for myself. I love Hummus because it is easy to make, delicious, and full of plant-based Protein. I have a quick and easy Hummus Recipe further back on my Instagram page/on my blog (www.typicalboymom.com). You can pair this with any veggies you have on hand, today I steamed Broccoli but he also loves this with Cucumber or Red Pepper.

Peanut Butter Puffs: Of course I had to mention the staple snack in my house, Peanut Butter Puffs! These things are a Baby Led Weaning must have, if you put a little bit of water on top they get nice and soft and my little guy literally eats them by the handful. They are made with simple ingredients and have a good amount of Protein. He never gets tired of these and they are one of the easiest snack options for a busy day.

Soaked Cheerios: This one is simple but my little guy always loves it. When I am having a busy day and need a quick snack that I know he will love, this is my go to. Taking about half a cup to a cup of Cheerios and letting them soak for a few minutes in milk (we use Almond Milk). This allows them to get nice and soft so they are super easy for him to eat. This is also a great snack for him to practice his spoon skills (or lack thereof).
